🎓 Module 09: Lessons
9.1: Getting Ready for Your Big Relaunch
- Once the dust has settled on your beta launch you’ll need to decide whether to run another beta or prepare for a full launch.
- Reasons to run another beta: wanting to see how changes are received, enjoying a more hands-on approach, and strong interest in the next cohort.
- Preparing for a full launch involves: deciding on the changes you’ll make, creating upgraded assets, and setting up your online course platform.
9.2: Deciding What Changes You’ll Make
- Relaunching your course means striking the right balance between making too many and too few modifications.
- Key steps include: reviewing your beta experience, refamiliarising yourself with the course content, and analysing student feedback.
- Potential changes can be prioritised using a simple system: Must do, Should do, or Could do.
- Remember to also consider any “non-content” changes like the course platform, pricing, amount of coaching provided, and programme length.
9.3: Creating Your Upgraded Assets
- Upgrading your course assets means improving your lessons, assignments, and so on, through content and production upgrades.
- Content upgrades involve changing the structure, substance, or script of assets, while production upgrades enhance the presentation quality.
- Tactical upgrades improve specific assets based on students feedback, while strategic upgrades aim for broader, course-wide enhancements.
9.4: Choosing Your Course Platform
- When choosing a course platform consider how well each platform handles: video hosting, community, email marketing, and sales tax.
- Also consider specific features you may need, such as quizzes, coupons, certificates, or affiliate marketing, and make sure it’s within your budget.
- Remember that no platform is likely to be a perfect fit, and you can always switch to a different platform later if necessary.
9.5: Your Course Setup Steps (Part 1)
- Setting up your course platform covers five main areas: Site Setup, Integrations, Course Setup, Community Setup, and Onboarding Content.
- Site Setup requires configuring basic settings and content like: site name, logo, default language, time zone, and privacy policy.
- Integration involves setting up payment processors like PayPal or Stripe and connecting email providers like MailChimp or ConvertKit.
9.6: Your Course Setup Steps (Part 2)
- Course Setup includes creating your course product, uploading your digital assets (e.g., lesson videos), and configuring content drip settings.
- Community Setup involves creating your discussion topics and configuring any user and administrator notifications.
- Onboarding Content involves creating a welcome email campaign, a welcome module, and any community welcome posts.
