Based on your own experience and student feedback, you’ll compile and prioritise a list of changes to make before relaunching your course.
👣 Steps
- Mentally review the experience of running your beta and make notes:
- What seemed to work well?
- What seemed to work less well?
- What did you enjoy?
- What was frustrating?
- What else did you find surprising or interesting about the process?
- Refamiliarise yourself with your course by stepping through the content and revisiting the coaching and community elements.
- Review the comments you received via your student feedback forms, looking for common themes, e.g., places where multiple people got confused or struggled.
- “Zoom out” to review the bigger picture and consider whether your course is on track to fulfil your mission and deliver the student promise:
- Did students make enough progress towards their destination?
- Is the process embodied by your course effective?
- Do you need to shift your mission or the promise?
- Go back through your curriculum and identify specific areas you might want to make changes:
- What lessons are inadequate, redundant or completely missing?
- What assignments are too hard, unclear or superfluous?
- What additional resources could be created, updated or removed?
- What upgrades to the production quality could be made?
- Review all of the possible changes you’ve identified and prioritise them using the recommended system, i.e., Must do, Should do, Could do.
